How a cautious finding becomes a bold claim

Watch a claim travel and you can see it gain confidence at every hop, without anyone lying outright.

Two specific failures account for most overstated ingredient claims, and both are quick to catch.

The first is the ghost citation: a superscript number, a bracketed reference, or a line reading "as shown in clinical research," attached to no title, no author, no year and no link.
